2010 Convention - Constitution Amendment

Below is an amendment to the Sigma Zeta Constitution as approved by the Executive Council (= National Council = National Officers).  The National Officers discussed this change at the November 2009 Officers/Advisors meeting when we made comparisons between Sigma Zeta and several other honor societies. The black font shows the wording in the current 2008 Edition of the Constitution, and the RED font or strike-through indicates the proposed changes.

Our Constitution in Article XIII states that:

“Any proposed amendment to this constitution shall be submitted to the National Council, and if approved by a majority of the Council, shall in turn be submitted to the constituent chapters at least 30 days in advance of the National Convention, at which time this amendment shall be considered for adoption; if approved by two-thirds of the chapters reporting to or represented at the National Convention, it shall be adopted and become immediately effective.”
Our National Convention this year is March 25-27 at Campbellsville University, and the proposed amendment will be voted on at the Saturday morning, March 27, business meeting open to all attendees.  Each attending chapter casts a single vote.
All of the national officers hope to see you and your students in Campbellsville!
