Option 1: Great Plains Art Museum - Self-guided tour of Moorhead's famous art museum. The Great plains Art museum features regional Native American, folk, and contemporary art. (free)
Option 2: Hjemkomst Cultural Center - Learn more about the history of the Fargo/Moorhead region at the Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretative Center. The Hjemkomst center first opened in 1985 and serves as a home to the Hjemkomst Viking Ship, Hopperstad Stave Church replica, and museum exhibits. ($10 per person)
Option 3: Science Outreach Service Trip - Partner with Concordia Science Academy, our science outreach organization and take part in a trip to a rural school to carry out hands-on science activities with the children there. All science activities, training, and lunch will be provided. (free)
Option 4: Brewery Tour (21+) - Go behind the scenes at one of Fargo/Moorhead's local breweries. Learn about the fermentation process and the science behind brewing, and even get a taste of a few local beers. Must be 21 or older to attend. (cost TBD)
Options 5: Nature Conservancy's Bluestem praire - Professionally guided tour of the region's Bluestem Prairie. Get a tour and discuss management techniques used to address conservation and protect biodiversity. (free)
Option 6: Red River Zoo - Go behind the scenes tour of Fargo's own Red River Zoo. Explore different career options, get a behind the scene tour of animal enclosures, and perhaps meet a few of the animals ($9 per person)
Option 7: Audubon's Urban Woods and Prairie Initiative - Professionally guided tour of reclaimed sites that part of the Audubon's Society's Urban Woods and Prairie Initiative. These sites along the floodplain in the Fargo/ Moorhead area were reclaimed in an effort to provide habitat for local species. Get a tour and discuss management techniques used to create these important and scenic conservation sites (free)
